Renxing Zhou, born in 1995 in Sichuan, China, is based in Cologne, Germany. She is currently studying at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. She combines virtual reality and documentary images, through on-site investigation and historical archive reconstruction, she attempts to explore people’s disembodied memories and complex psychological states in the overlap of site, history, and technological time and space. Her works often use writing, video and interactive installations as media to reveal the layers of individual life that are obscured by conventional narratives.
